because it is my friend's birthday today
it has been a filipino tradition to really have a bongga celebration in every occasion that we have in our calendars like christmasses, birthdays, new year, easter sunday and even valentines is a big fuss to every filipino. no excuse not be merry, cheery and worst of all gigly. what if you really do not have any reason to be happy at all? as abby said, "nakakainis na tong kultura natin ha."
it's not that i am a grinch but christmas, as i age, tends to be the most depressing time of the year. couldn't it be just any other day except that work is off that day?
anniversaries that fall on occasions or holidays, most importantly valentines, should be unlawful in the coming years. why would anyone set their anniversaies on birthdays, valentines and even christmas? isn't it memorable enough just to have one ocassion on one day? and when relationships end, that day will surely to your horror give you twice the depression.
isang okasyon lang ang gusto ko sa buong kalendaryo at yun ay ang Araw ng Kagitingan! wala naman na sigurong ikaka-mushy ang araw na yan. =)
